Mario Schifano, 20 September 1934 - 26 January 1998, was an Italian painter and collagistof the Postmodern tradition. Schifano is considered to be one of the most significant and pre-eminent artists of Italian postmodernism. His works have been exhibited in the famous 1962 New Realist show with with other young Pop art artists, including Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. He became part of the core goup of artists, known as the Scuola Romana, alongside with Franco Angelo and Tano Festa.
